We all dream of flawless, glowing skin, though for some, it’s very obtainable, for others… Well, let’s be real, we all have one or two skin concerns. Great skin is not just a matter of good genes- your daily habits, and what you eat, in fact, have a big impact on what you see when you look at the mirror. If you want to achieve that vibrant, glowing skin effect you’ve always wanted, here are some practices you should start implementing to improve your skin health.

Cleans! Cleans! Cleans!

Washing your face is the most basic and essential step of any routine. You should wash your face with a cleanser twice a day, morning and night, to avoid clogged pores, dullness and acne.

Never go to bed with make-up on!

I should never go to bed without removing your make-up, or cleaning your face from the dust and dirt it collects throughout the day. You should let your face breathe while you sleep.

Always wear sunscreen!

Many people feel they need to protect themselves only at the beach or during the daytime, in reality you need to wear sunscreen rain or shine, indoors or outdoors, because the UV exposure  contributes to the visible signs of aging.

Less is more!

Stop using that many products. Layering on multiple skincare products all at once is a big no-no, it may be harsh on the skin, cause various allergies, resulting in more breakouts and clogged pores.

Moisturize!

The most basic function of a moisturizer is to hydrate and soften the skin. Our skin naturally loses the ability to retain moisture as we get older, so we better use this great assistance of moisturizers in preventing water loss through the outer layers of skin.

Stay hydrated!

Staying hydrated is essential to your skin health, so don’t forget to drink plenty of water to keep your skin looking and feeling hydrated all day long.

Maintain a healthy diet!

Your skin is an organ, so what you put in your body acts on it, just as it would any other organ. Maintaining a healthy diet filled with vitamins, minerals, nutrients, proteins, and whole grains, is vital to improving your skin’s health.

Sleep!

Do not ever forget about the importance of rest, sleeping is a natural exercise unleashing your skin’s natural ability to rejuvenate and repair. Getting eight hours a night will keep your skin healthy, youthful, and vibrant at every age.

Stop touching your face!

I know it can be very difficult, and sometimes we do it subconsciously, but constantly touching your face doesn’t just spread bacteria and viruses, it can also cause breakouts, lead to scarring and increase wrinkles.

Exfoliate!

As  we lose an insane amount of skin cells per day, your skin needs just a little bit of scrubbing  to get rid of the dead skin, just choose a product that is pH neutral so it doesn’t dry, or causes minimal damage to your skin as it exfoliates.

Clean your makeup brushes regularly!

To fight infection and clogged pores, we strongly recommend washing your all your make -up brushes at least once a week.

Don’t towel off!

We recommend using a paper towel instead, as the hard fabric can be too harsh on your skin and cause some minor damages. Besides you never know how much bacteria there is on the towel you used just yesterday.

Don’t forget about the neck!

You should always treat your neck as an extension of your face. The skincare routine you have for your face applies to your neck too, so don’t forget to moisturize and most importantly to put on a generous layer of sunscreen on your neck.

Try Face Massage!

Another great treatment is lymphatic drainage massage to keep your skin clear, elastic, and glowing. This kind of massage can completely change the look of someone’s face and is a great skincare tip to consider.

Stress Less!

It might be easier said than done, but stress can directly affect the health and appearance of your skin. It can also leave your skin looking tired and dull.

Take your time when applying beauty products!

When layering, let each product absorb for two or three minutes so it’s not counteracted or diluted by the next one you put on.

Be Mindful of Irritants!

If you have sensitive skin, blemishes or pimples, products containing fragrance, parabens, sulfates and other harsh ingredients may be harmful to your skin. To reduce the risk of irritation, use alcohol/fragrance free, organic products and try to be gentle while applying them.

Leave your pimples alone!

As tempting as it may be to pop a pimple, try to resist the urge as you’ll most likely spread the bacteria and you could even leave a scar.

Toning!

You should think of a toner as a supplement, this thin liquid substance delivers an extra shot of nutrients, helping the other products in your regimen absorb better, while still balancing your complexion.

Eye Cream!

Can you survive without using an eye cream? You absolutely can. But, if you have specific concerns such as hyperpigmentation, dryness or under eye puffiness – you might want to try one.
